2020 Favourites | Makeup + Skincare

Now that 2020 is coming to an end, I’m here to share all my favourites from this lousy year (hoping you’re not over it with all the yearly favourites floating around). Even though I’ve not used makeup as much as I usually do this year, I still have some favourites that I either continued using at home or loved during the beginning of this year. Continue reading to know the little things that made this year a little better for me!

Let’s begin with makeup:

For my base, I’ve absolutely loved using my Dior Backstage Foundation (a prized possession). It has sheer coverage which is buildable and the finish is just so beautiful! It looks lovely on the skin and blends like a dream (I use my fingers for the same). Here is a picture of me wearing it which is up on my Instagram.

Secondly, although I’m a bit torn about this one, but the Mac Strobe Cream has helped me achieve a subtle glow oh-so effortlessly, which is also appropriate for work and college. You could just tap on some moisturiser to achieve a similar look, but this just works better for me and looks so healthy and natural.

Moving on to the eyes, I again have two favourites. The Lakme Eyeconic Kajals (I use them as eyeliners) in black and brown have surprised me and how! They last for really long and are so easy to use. My only issue with these is that they transfer to my oily eyelids a bit but considering how affordable these are, I don’t mind it. Definitely try these out if you’ve not already. The Essense Lash Princess Mascara is another favourite. It adds the just the right amount of volume and is perfect for everyday use.

Blushes are my one true love. I loved adding some blush to my bare face even to just sit at home as it just makes me feel better. Do you relate to this? The Etude House Dear Darling Tint in PK003 and the YBP Princess (reviewed here) are easy to blend and look so natural.

Coming to lip products, two products that I was using non-stop during the beginning year and continue to love are the Bobbi Brown Crushed Liquid Lip Colour in the shade Give A Fig and L’Oreal Rouge Liquid Lipstick in the shade I Explore. They’re both very comfortable to wear and the Bobbi Brown also leaves a lovely stain behind, which is probably my favourite part of using it. At home, I liked using the Nivea lip balm in Blackberry, it’s hydrating and looks great.

I also want to quickly add a nail paint that I’ve been obsessed with since 2 years now. It’s the Sugar Nail Lacquer in Cookie Cutter. It is a lovely nude shade and the formula is just great.

I’ve just a couple of skin care products to share which I didn’t really discover in 2020, but have loved since the last few months if not years. The Pixi Glow Tonic is something I’ve been using regularly over the last 2 years and it has definitely helped my skin look healthier. This toner and a moisturiser has been my night time skin care routine for a long time. I’ve also liked using Emolene (reviewed here) on a daily basis.

I’ve really dry skin but my hands and feet are especially dry. Hydromax, recommended by my dermatologist, is the only moisturiser that really works for me on these areas. It’s like butter and deeply nourishes your skin. I carry it around in my bags all the time. An absolute favourite not just for me but also my mom!

The Laneige Lip Sleeping Mask hydrates my lips and feels so comfortable to have on. Give this one a shot if you’ve not already!

And this brings us to the end. Happy New Year you guys! I’ll now see you in 2021. Hope you enjoyed this post and found some new products. Do let me know your favourites from this year in the comments below.
