Hola! How are you guys doing? Cleansing the skin should be an essential step in one’s routine and no matter how little makeup I have on, I always make it a point to take it all off before I go to bed. So today, I’ll be talking about a cleanser that I had heard great stuff about, The Face Shop Rice Water Bright Cleansing Water. Let’s see how it worked out for me.
Price: Rs.590 for 145ml
Packaging: This is the part I truly dislike about the product. The pump packaging could be very convenient but is instead the complete opposite! It dispenses a lot of product in one pump and also leaks, this leads to product wastage and also does not make it travel friendly.
Consistency: The cleansing water stands true to its name and has a watery consistency. It is very light on the face and does not leave behind any oily residue.
Suitability: This product by The Face Shop made my eyes burn like crazy! I just can’t use it to remove my eye makeup. I also think it broke me out a little. The alcohol in it might be to blame for this.
Fragrance: It has a very light fragrance which is not bothersome at all.
The cleansing water does do its job of removing makeup very well. It also takes off waterproof makeup, though waterproof mascara will not be completely removed. Just a couple of swipes and your waterproof eyeliner or lipstick will be off completely.
It doesn’t leave behind a greasy film and really does feel like water. You might be tempted to not wash your face post cleansing, but I always do and would recommend you do the same. It will also not dry out your skin.
The product claims to brighten up your skin but I did not notice any visible difference. But, I did notice a few bumps after a few days of using it but I’m not completely sure if it was this or some other product I was testing at the time.
It stings my eye like crazy and the packaging is a big no-no for me. I tend to not use this product because of these reasons.
Let us now sum up the pros and cons:
- Removes waterproof makeup
- Non drying
- Light fragrance
- No greasy residue
- Pump dispenses more product than required
- Not travel friendly
- Stings my eyes
- Contains alcohol
Inspite of the raving reviews, I would personally not recommend this product to anyone. You can use a simple micellar water along with the Maybelline Makeup Remover to get all your makeup off.
