Having the perfect brows has been all the rage recently. I’ve been using and loving the Maybelline Fashion Brow for the longest time now and finally decided to try something new. So today I’ll be reviewing the newly launched Nykaa Brow Chika Wow Eyebrow Pencil for you guys! Continue reading to know if this is the product that will help you achieve your eyebrow goals!
Price: Rs.400 for 1.08gm
Packaging: The pencil comes with the typical Nykaa outer cardboard box and a built-in spoolie. The pencil unfortunately doesn’t come with a free sharpener and you need to pay Rs.150 just to get a sharpener along with it. The pencil itself is sleek and can be easily carried around.
Shade: The pencil comes in only one shade that is Coven Cocoa, which is essentially a dark brown colour. Even though it is available only in brown, I think this is the shade that will suit most of us with black hair and hence, I’m not disappointed with the shade range.
Pigmentation: The Nykaa eyebrow pencil has high pigmentation and needs to be used with a very light hand. If you are a beginner, you certainly need to be careful of not going overboard with it.
Texture: The product is smooth and glides on easily onto your brows. Although, I do feel that if the pencil was a little waxy, it would help our brows stay in shape for a while.
Spoolie-brush: I feel the spoolie is the best part of this pencil. Even if you end up going overboard with the product, this brush will help you distribute it evenly across your brows and make them look natural.
Staying power: As Nykaa claims, the pencil does last for a good 7-8 hours. It does not melt even when it’s humid outside.
Smudge proof and Waterproof: The pencil is certainly smudge proof and stays the way you apply it all throughout. It is water resistant but not waterproof. At the same time, it won’t make you look ridiculous if gets washed off, I personally wouldn’t mind using it even when it’s raining outside.
I’ve been obsessed with this pencil recently. In fact, the first time I used it, my mom was flattered by the way my brows looked and she had no idea I had filled them in. You can use it the way you like it, natural or bold, whatever sails your boat. I think it’s perfect for beginners, but you will need some practice, since it is quite pigmented.
Let us now sum up the pros and cons.
- Built-in spoolie
- Glides on easily
- Long lasting
- Smudge proof
- Suitable for both, natural and bold brows
- Available in brown, which will suit most of us
- Highly pigmented
- Not waterproof
- Doesn’t come with a free sharpener
I would recommend all of you to give this eyebrow pencil a shot. It’s perfect for daily wear and is reasonably priced. Highly recommended for beginners!
