Hola! Since I’ve dry skin, I always stay away from skin care products that claim to be anti shine or matte. The Mumbai humidity was in all its glory, when I found The Face Shop Chia Seed No Shine Intense Hydrating Cream. It sounded perfect for the summers, since it claimed to be hydrating as well as shine free, which meant no stickiness! Continue reading to find out how the cream fared on me.
Price: Rs.1990 for 50ml
Packaging: The Chia Seed Hydrating Cream comes in a glass tub packaging. The tub is packaged in a cardboard box, along with a spatula to help you scoop out the product. It isn’t the most travel friendly packaging, since the tub is quite heavy.

Consistency and Fragrance: I absolutely love the consistency of this cream! It says “cream” but it has a gel-like texture, which blends into the skin effortlessly. It also smells amazing! I cannot explain the fragrance, but it is certainly not overpowering or anything.
Moisturization: The product offers extreme hydration and doesn’t leave any greasy residue behind! I can see myself reaching up to this all year round, since it’s going to be perfect even during winters.
Suitability: This product is suitable for all skin types and is especially a boon for the oily-skinned ladies! It didn’t break me out and is suitable for sensitive skin as well.
My Experience:
I’m in love with this stuff! It is extremely hydrating and doesn’t make my skin feel heavy or anything of those sorts. It is extremely light weight and it feels like you’ve nothing on your face.

Chia seed known as sabja in Hindi, is known to be a super food. Honestly, I didn’t expect the cream to give me any other benefits than moisturization but, with regular usage I found that it made my skin a lot brighter and also added a subtle glow.
It can also be used before makeup, as it’ll moisturise your skin and help your makeup glide on easily.
Let us move on to the pros and cons.
Pros:
- Provides great hydration
- No greasy residue left behind
- Light weight
- Suitable for all skin types
- Subtle fragrance
- Makes the skin brighter with regular usage
- Fast absorbing
Cons:
- Expensive
- Tub packaging

Conclusion:
I have been using the Face Shop Chia Seed Hydrating Cream for almost 2 months now and I’ll recommend all of you to give the a shot! Even though it’s on the expensive side, I think it’s totally worth it. Repurchasing this one for sure.

This sounds perfect for the monsoon season. The price is a bit steep though!

I have dry sensitive skin and almost every moisturizing cream I have is heavy duty, feels eeky sticky, makes you sweat easily (tmi I know). A lightweight hydrating cream sounds lovely! I will give it a try 🙂
