Island Kiss Lip Moisturizer Review – Puerto Berry Blush

Since I’m not really fond of using lipsticks on a daily basis, I’m always on the lookout for some tinted lip balms. As I have mentioned in an earlier post, Maybelline Baby Lips or even the Nivea lip balms don’t suit me! They just end up making my lips drier and chapped the next day.

That’s why the shade Puerto Berry Blush by Island Kiss caught my eye, since it is 100% natural; I thought I should give it a try! Since I’ve already spoken quite a bit, let us now finally go on with the review 😛

The lip balm is priced at Rs.500, which is quite affordable since it is organic. To start with, this particular shade has a beautiful pinkish red tint. I love the colour of this variant as it is perfect for daily use and you can also build it up if you’re going out or something. The colour stays on for about 2-2.5 hours after which you need to reapply but it does leave behind a stain, which, I love!

I wouldn’t say that these lip balm ranks ten on ten in the hydration department. It is quite hydrating for the first 2-3 hours of application, but after that you do need to reapply. But for my extremely dry lips, I sometimes like to use a clear lip balm like the Uriage one under this, to keep my lips moisturized for a longer period of time. But if you don’t have dry lips, you’re going to love this one!

The best part is that the lip balm is all natural and the ingredients list as you can see, is just amazing. An all-organic lip balm with such a beautiful tint is rare to find!

It also has SPF 15, which is great for the daytime! The packaging is so sassy and fun, it is difficult to not fall in love with it! The lip balm comes in a tube applicator and hence is hygienic to apply. The lip balm also smells great and is not at all overpowering.

Coming to the formulation, it feels just like Vaseline, though it is petroleum free. Some may find it a bit greasy but I personally don’t mind that.

They also have two other variants (priced at Rs.400), which are essentially for moisturization, since they do not have much colour. The Puerto Berry Blush variant is the most pigmented of all the 3 shades. These lip moisturizers by Island Kiss are available online at various sites, including nykaa and amazon.

Summing up the pros and cons:

Pros:

  1. Beautiful tint
  2. 100% natural
  3. SPF 15
  4. Hydrating
  5. Smells amazing
  6. Awesome packaging
  7. Easily available online

Cons:

  1. A bit greasy
  2. Reapplication needed

Conclusion:

If you have normal to dry lips and are looking for a good tinted lip balm, go for it! And if you have overly dry lips, buy it if you don’t mind reapplying.
